Turning Pages is the fourth of the popular Book Groups and has gone from strength to strength since its’ formation in the Autumn of 2023.

Our book choices reflect the wide and varied reading tastes of our members. We make suggestions based on reviews we have read, or authors we recommend to each other. We mostly try to choose books which no one has read previously, so that we all come fresh to each novel.

Our choices to date have included contemporary fiction, historical fiction and non-fiction. On one occasion we watched the film connected to our current book to compare how the book translates to the screen.

Our discussions are lively, with a friendly exchange of views and laughter, as we put forward our opinions on characters and plot.

We share the main roles amongst members; there is a library co-ordinator, publicity contact, and a group representative. This spreads the responsibility for all the small tasks involved and makes for a relaxed group.

We meet on the third Thursday of the month in a local café where we have a regular reservation.

We look forward to a varied and challenging reading list in the coming months.
