Limebrook Maldon U3A was born out of necessity as all of the local U3As had long waiting lists and there was a substantial number of us that were not prepared to wait! A meeting was held in September 2011 organised by members of the Blackwater, Heybridge and Maldon U3A with a view to setting up a new group.A committee was formed and with the help and encouragement of the other U3As in Maldon, Limebrook was set up.
The rest, as they say, is now History!!
Our membership is now well over 200 and we have a wide range of interest groups as well as trips, theatre visits and of course our monthly get-togethers
Our main monthly meeting is on the second Friday of the month at 2p.m. for a talk (see details on the events page), a chat and a cuppa. Many of the groups have display boards and are all happy to talk about what they are doing and intend to do. There are also a board for the Theatre group which organises trips that are open to all members.
We pride ourselves on being a friendly group so please contact us if you would like to join. The only qualification for membership is that you have finished with full time employment (for which most of us are truly grateful!!!)
