The Fact & Fiction book group mainly aims to offer a home for people who like to read factual books - military history, social history, popular science etc.  as well as works of fiction

Members take it in turns to pick the book for the month. 

People are welcome to choose fiction if they want to, and often pick familiar works by established authors like Charles Dickens, Graham Greene and Aldous Huxley as well as more modern authors.

The book group was launched in January 2023 by Mark Ellis and is now led by Terry Wood. We meet on the fourth Tuesday of the month, at 4.30pm, upstairs in the Mighty Oak Taproom.  The group can accommodate up to 12 members, and currently (May 2026) has vacancies
